Ellen Back is a strategic growth leader with over a decade of experience in proposal development, capture management, and professional writing expertise. She helps organizations strengthen how they pursue and win new business across nonprofit, state and local, and federal markets.

Known for her builder's mindset, Ellen partners closely with executive leadership to identify and shape high-value opportunities, strengthen pipeline visibility, and lead the full lifecycle of strategic pursuits. Her work goes beyond execution: she designs systems, processes, and narratives that improve the quality, consistency, and outcomes of new business efforts.

With experience across government contracting, small to mid-sized IT firms, and global integrated marketing agencies, Ellen has led public sector communications strategies that connect insight, storytelling, and structure. At Ruder Finn, she played a key role in establishing and expanding the agency's federal business, aligning strategy, creative, and leadership teams to drive new business growth.

Outside of work, Ellen brings the same enthusiasm and curiosity to the rest of her life. She enjoys 5am workouts, Wednesday night improv, and trying new restaurants with her partner and friends. Most Fridays, she's getting her butt kicked by Maya, her 4pm Barry's instructor. Ellen is passionate about education, personal development, and helping people evolve thoughtfully in the age of AI.
